Combat Wombat

To quote the The Doctor "What?! What?!"

Yes, I know it's a bit strange, a wombat as a mercenary demolitions expert! What was I smoking when I came up with that idea?
Well I wasn't smoking anything actually (I only smoke when I'm on fire :}). The whole idea came out of one of my other 'animal' themed web sites, cool aardvark While talking about this site some one (I have no idea who) suggested that I should have a whole range of different ant eating animal websites. Great idea! So we started to try and think of cool sounding names for these sites. There was no thought of content at this point, there never is. The name is the important thing...isn't it?
Anyway some cool names did come up, but I didn't register them until quite a bit later, and this caused a tiny little problem. The original name suggested was combat-numbat, which would have kept the ant eating theme going, however I remembered the name wrongly and numbat became wombat. Biology students among you will know that wombats don't eat ant's or termites, they are in fact herbivores. I'd already registered the name by that point so it was to late, but I think combat wombat sounds cooler anyway!
It is only recently that the idea for what content to put on this site has come to mind, mainly due to the art work for the site provided by Mr Floppy Lion him self, Frederic Q. Splinge (an obvious alias!). So yes, combat wombat has (or will shortly) become my first money making (I hope) enterprise on the web, selling cool t-shirt designs. I registered spiny echidna at the same time and some time soon I hope to have a an idea for content on this site too! The bulk of my on line work can be found at hyperlands

Technical bits

The site was built using Panic softwares, Coda app. The fonts used on the t-shirts and the site come from both Blambot and Rotodesign. Specifically I've used Midnight Snack and Ultra Violent from Blambot and Jink from Rotodesign.
